MEDICAL MINISTRY

The medical ministry of Mission Lazarus functions as an instrument in order for the people it serves, people of minimal financial income and great medical need, to know Jesus and His Church through direct medical treatment, health education, and direct and indirect evangelism, never denying consultation due to lack of financial resources, and always allowing for glory and recognition to be given first and foremost to Jesus and His Church using Christ’s own example of Preaching, Teaching & Healing.

“Jesus went teaching and preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people,” Matthew 4:23.

 Many, many children in Honduras do not have bedtime stories or evening meals.  When these children close their eyes, their empty bellies grumble in protest.  Nearly all suffer from parasites.  Nighttime brings neither rest nor energy to face a new day.  Stunted growth, anemia, and chronic colds and infections accompany the malaise and depression which hallmark malnutrition. The Nutrition Program was started in 2005, as a preventative measure, in response to several early childhood deaths that the clinic encountered as a result of malnutrition. And we are growing! That's right, not only are the children growing, but the Mission Lazarus Nutrition Program is growing as well!  Because of the great need and the remarkable success of our program we have decided to expand.  Currently there are a total of 46 children being treated between our two nutrition programs in Las Pitas and San Marcos de Colon. That means 46 loving and caring individuals or families from the US who have dedicated $25 - $30 per month to help feed the "least of these."  Through partnerships with the local congregations here, we have seen a great need in several more communities and have decided, in faith, to more than double our program by adding 60 new sponsorships.  Please join us as we keep the new communities in our prayers as we partner with the churches in: Los Zorrillos, downtown Choluteca, Marcovia, Monjaras, and Duyure.   Please also prayerfully consider supporting a child in need.
