This photo represents so much hope in the form of new visions of self-worth for young women around our coffee plantation that are a part of our sewing school. Josept Andrade, a vocational preacher and his wife Naomi (back row, far left) are discipling 27 young women from six different communities and doing an amazing job at it. Now seven additional communities are asking for the same opportunity to receive vocational training and secondary education. Help us expand this program to reach more young women as we help them see themselves as God sees them, as well as give them the skills they need to improve the economic trajectory of their lives. 👊🏼💥// Link to give to our women's empowerment initiative in profile. #mlwomen #givinghope #Honduras

These four women spent an afternoon laughing, sharing stories, experiencing God's majestic creation, and enjoying some delicious freshly roasted @sanlazaro coffee on our farm last month. Each of our stories is very different, but God intricately wove all of them together on this particular day and we discovered that we are so much more alike than we are different. We are all daughters of a God who loves and pursues us fiercely, and women that are working to spread His love and hope to others. Mission Lazarus had the pleasure of hosting Celeste Bundy (far left) from @fashionandcompassion, one of our partners in hope that is passionate about connecting caring consumers to artisans all around the world. We were thrilled to show her our operations in Honduras and the wide spread impact that is being made by selling our products! #mlwomen #givinghope through #socialenterprise #Honduras
"The truth is, I love everything about coffee because I grew up here. My favorite part about the farm is seeing the white blooms along the hillside. I also like to work with the women. They are more obedient." (she says with a giggle 😂) ~ Norma ⠀
There is so much to say about this sweet woman, the manager of La Finca San Lazaro, our coffee farm in Honduras. Her joy and love for what she is doing is evident to all who meet her. She grew up on this farm, picking coffee since she was a little girl, and is now running the whole place. Not only does she run the farm, she is also constantly welcoming friends and strangers alike into her humble home with open arms, roasting them some delicious coffee on her adobe cook stove and graciously making all feel welcome. We are so blessed to have her and so grateful for the joy and leadership she brings to the mountain! #mlwomen #givinghope
"The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, 'Move!' and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn't be able to tackle." ~ Matthew 17:20
This is Lillian and her two daughters, Nancy and Alejandra. Mission Lazarus has been humbled by her courage and faith in God as we have been a part of her journey over the last eight years. // Read her inspiring story on our blog and learn more about how you can partner with us to help empower gifted students like Alejandra to reach for a brighter future. // Link in profile. #mlwomen #givinghope
It may be hard to believe that she really is a doctor when you look at her young and lively face, but she is, and she's our very own doctor in Honduras. She's good at what she does, which is passionately saving women's lives, and as much as we thank God for Dr. Nelsy Alvarado, we know the women she cares for that have no other access to health services do even more so. #mlwomen
Last month some of our team members got to visit a weaving co-op on a hillside outside of the Honduran town of Copán Ruinas. Women from five indigenous Mayan families have been weaving beautiful brightly colored textiles here for the last twelve years. It was a joy to meet them and even have them teach us how to weave using an ancient handloom technique. All over the world, women are doing beautiful work to help support their families and better their communities. If you'll be visiting our ranch in Honduras this summer, look for some of their products in our store!
