Live. Love. Learn.
The Mission Lazarus Refuge exists to restore dignity and purpose to children whose short lives have been forcibly marked by a struggle to survive that consumed any hope or knowledge of a redeemed life through the love of Jesus Christ. The Refuge provides a place for children to rest, heal, and explore a different kind of life.
Because of our partners, these children have a safe place to learn, love and live.
At the Refuge each child experiences:
- A home environment with a current ratio of 1:5 (caregiver to children), with a focus on individualized attention
- Value placed on individual needs, hurts, and dreams
- Medical care and counseling when needed
In the fall of 2013 the Mission Lazarus Refuge was recognized by the central government of Honduras as the model orphanage home for the country.
We are looking for sponsors for our Refuge. You can donate once or become a monthly donor. When you donate monthly you can commit to blessing the life of one child financially as well as commit to pray for their growth. You will receive a photograph of that child each year and receive bi-annual updates in our Refuge Newsletter.
Meet the Team
Our Refuge housemothers and director are passionate about being a positive influence in the lives of the children of the Refuge. It is their home and we have the joy of blessing their lives every day. Many of our children have experienced hardship at a very young age. The role of the housemothers is crucial in their development and growth.
