Why the question of effective compassion is so complicated
Jesus said, Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them." Our Lazarus Academy teachers and staff receive its students daily with open arms, just like Jesus, to instruct them in the Way that they should go. The families of our students are so important as they partner with our teachers to prepare their children to view the world they live in through the love of Jesus.
The Mission Lazarus vision is bringing eternal worth to light. The journey toward that inspirational future is guided by our mission of cultivating dignity and purpose so that Haitian and Honduran people can live abundant lives now and eternally. It's one thing to thrive in that journey along the illuminated, straight stretches of road, but to make a God-sized dream become reality, we must be willing to navigate those inevitable rocky climbs and hairpin turns through dark, desolate valleys as we are experiencing this season in Haiti.
Hey guys! In the last entry we talked about the Mission Lazarus vision "bringing eternal worth to light." The dream of a future Honduras and Haiti where all people, actions, and things harmoniously coexist to magnify the glory of God is our dream. Imagining this magnificent future coming to fruition is what inspires our actions and plans of today.
