Transformed Lives. Transformed Hearts.

In the quiet hills of La Laguna, Honduras, a 62-year-old farmer named Jose Corrales spent his days planting maize and beans—just enough to feed his family. For over 30 years, he and his wife, Candida, raised six children without access to basic sanitation. Like many of their neighbors, they had no latrine. They used the surrounding forest, exposing themselves and their children to serious health risks.

Through Mission Lazarus’ Community Health Project and the dedicated care of Mission Lazarus evangelist Julio Palma, the Corrales family received more than just a latrine—they received dignity, health, and the Gospel.

From Sanitation to Salvation

As Julio worked with this family to build the latrine, he built trust. Conversations turned into prayers. One by one, every member of the Corrales family came to know Jesus. Jose, once skeptical and quiet, was the last to be baptized. Now, they host a house church where 30 neighbors gather regularly to pray and worship.

A simple community health initiative can change everything – both now and for eternity.
