The Future of Haiti Has a Name

Ludwil Joseph

This fall, Ludwil Joseph will begin her sophomore year at Abilene Christian University, where she is studying engineering. We are inviting the Mission Lazarus family to help provide the remaining $20,000 needed for her sophomore year.

The total cost of Ludwil's education is approximately $60,000. Through a generous $20,000 scholarship from Abilene Christian University and $20,000 already given by faithful friends of Mission Lazarus, more than half of the need has already been met. We are now trusting God to provide the final $20,000 before the school year begins.

Last year, many of you invested in Ludwil's future, making it possible for her to begin pursuing her dream of one day returning to Haiti as an engineer.

Ludwil is the daughter of Mission Lazarus' Haiti National Director, Wilky Joseph. While her father continues leading our ministry through one of the most difficult seasons Haiti has ever faced, Ludwil is preparing for a different kind of calling. She hopes to return home with an engineering degree and use her education to help rebuild the country she loves.

Your investment is already bearing fruit.

Ludwil completed her freshman year with a 4.0 GPA.

But when you ask Ludwil about her first year, grades aren't the first thing she talks about.

"The most important thing I've learned is to trust the Lord no matter what. Being able to start college on time, especially with everything that was going on, was a wonderful grace from God. This taught me that God always has a plan." - Ludwil

Her story continues…

Throughout the year, Ludwil found encouragement through chapel, Christian professors, roommates, and friendships that challenged her to grow spiritually and personally. Those experiences have only strengthened her desire to return home and serve Haiti.

Her goal has never been simply to earn an engineering degree. Her goal is to use her engineering training to strengthen Haiti through innovation, infrastructure, and opportunities that enable talented Haitians to build productive lives without leaving their country.

She explains it this way:

"Investing in my education will help my personal growth, and in return, I'll be able to help my community and participate in the development of my country."

Would you prayerfully consider helping us close the remaining gap?

Every gift brings Ludwil one step closer to becoming the engineer God is preparing her to be and one step closer to helping rebuild Haiti.

Thank you for believing in Ludwil and for investing in the future of Haiti.

“I never imagined that a girl from Haiti would one day stand in the snow on a college campus in Texas. Every step of this journey reminds me that God is faithful and that so many people have invested in my future. Thank you for believing in me and helping me prepare to make a difference in Haiti.” - Ludwil
