We Reached Her Just In Time

In the remote community of Las Pitas, 88-year-old Doña Rafaela Cadenas was running out of options.

By the time the Mission Lazarus mobile medical clinic reached her home, she was bedridden and weakened by illness. For people living in isolated communities in southern Honduras, the distance to medical care can mean an illness progresses long before help arrives.

Our team evaluated Rafaela, began the treatment she needed and, just as importantly, kept coming back. Weeks later, something remarkable happened.

The woman our team had first found lying in bed walked through the doors of our clinic to continue treatment for her chronic condition.

That’s what it means to bring healthcare to people who otherwise have very limited access to it. Sometimes we have to travel miles into remote villages to get to them, and often their care requires weeks or months of follow-up. But we want to be there before illness has the final word.

Help Us Reach Those Still Waiting

There are many more people like Doña Rafaela throughout southern Honduras who still need vital medical care and intervention.

Will you help us reach them?

Your gift today helps send our mobile medical team into remote villages, provide treatment and medications, and continue caring for patients long after the first visit.

Every mile traveled, every patient treated, and every follow-up visit is another opportunity to demonstrate the love of Christ.

Give today and help us take healthcare to those who need it most.
